What Size Tires for a 3-inch Lift on Jeep Wrangler

Jeeps were made to help you explore, regardless of whatever model you drive. For added clearance and better handling, larger tyres are often required to go further. So, in order to explore more, can 35-inch tyres be fitted to a Jeep with a 3-inch lift? Any tyre, including 35-inch tyres, can be fitted to a Jeep with the correct amount of effort. The majority of them will necessitate a significant amount of effort. Instead of straining a 35-inch tyre to fit on a Jeep with a five- to six-inch lift kit, look for a good tyre that will fit and work well with a 3-inch lift kit.

Despite the fact that all Jeeps were designed to be adventure vehicles, some are more suited to off-roading than others. Find out which Jeep models can add 35-inch tyres and a 3-inch raise to boost their off-roading capabilities in the video below! The original off-road vehicle was the Jeep Wrangler. Unfortunately, many people’s off-roading requirements are not met by factory tyres. Jeep has recognized this and has begun to manufacture new versions with wider tyres throughout the years.

Here are some examples of automobiles that can accommodate 35-inch tyres.

TJ

Stock 30-inch tyres come standard on the Jeep TJ Rubicon. This Jeep Wrangler model can accommodate 33-inch tyres with a three-inch raise. While this is still an excellent upgrade, 35-inch tyres provide significantly greater off-road clearance. To fit 35-inch tyres on a Jeep Wrangler TJ, you’ll need to conduct a thorough overhaul and factor in the additional challenges that this adjustment will bring. Upgrades to the steering, brakes, control arms, and track bars, as well as a greater lift, would be required with 35-inch tyres (at least 4.5 inches). In the end, the Jeep TJ was not designed to handle 35-inch tyres and the additional power they necessitate.

JK

The Jeep Wrangler JK, which was somewhat larger and had three different factory tyre sizes, followed the Jeep Wrangler TJ. The JK comes with either 29 or 32-inch stock tyres depending on how you customized your vehicle. Off-roaders know that bigger is always better, thus the tyres were larger than the TJ’s. So, can 35-inch tyres fit on the JK?

In theory, it is possible. The Jeep Wrangler JK can use 35-inch tyres with a three-inch raise; however, due to the fenders, there may be considerable rubbing. This problem can be avoided with just simple trimming and spacers.

JL

Stock 33-inch tyres are fitted to the Jeep Wrangler JL. This already gives it a leg up on its predecessors in terms of off-roading capability. The Jeep Wrangler JL, meanwhile, will require a lift to accommodate 35-inch tyres. You’re in luck if your Jeep JL already has a three-inch raise on it. Because the Jeep Wrangler JL was designed with extra room to allow larger tyres for off-roading, it can easily fit 35-inch tyres with this size lift.

  • Once you’ve determined that you have a flat tyre, look for a dry, safe spot to park the car where neither you nor the vehicle will be endangered by other vehicles or road users.
  • If you have the tools and know how to jack up the automobile and replace the punctured tyre, go ahead and locate the jacking points beneath it. These metal points are usually found behind the front wheels but in front of the rear wheels. They’ve been reinforced to support the vehicle’s weight as well as any cargo it might transport.
  • Place chocks in front of the car tyres on the other side of the tyre you’re working on. As you work on the car’s tyres, this will keep it from moving around accidentally. After that, secure the jack and begin raising the vehicle. Make sure that whatever jack you use is compatible with the vehicle’s weight before you start using it.  Manipulate the jack to raise the car to a height where you can remove the flat tyre and replace it with a good one. If you’re lifting the car, don’t forget to use axle or jack stands.
  • Replace the flat tyre with the spare as soon as possible, tighten the wheel bolts, and unwind the jack to get the car back on its wheels. After that, you’re pretty much done.

I bought a three “For my 1997 Jeep Wrangler, I purchased a suspension lift kit with cam bolt alignment and a set of Summit 85 black 8 series wheels. 31/10.5/r15 was suggested. Is it possible to get bigger without having to rub?

I’m going to take it up a notch to the mid-thirties. Here’s a shot of 33×12.5R17 tyres on a three-wheeled vehicle “get up (HD OME lift). Don’t get me wrong, the 33s are great and provide plenty of flexing area, but I’d prefer a little more rubber with this lift
