Where is the Satellite Antenna on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Satellite radio is an excellent method to make your everyday commute to and from work a little easier. If you’re looking for the best jeep antenna, then you’ve come to the right place. Any Jeep enthusiast will tell you that having a good antenna for listening to music or the news is crucial. It’s not only useful, but it also adds a dash of bravado to your Jeep’s overall appearance.

Location

It’s on the passenger side, just above the speaker in the sound bar, inside the roll bar padding. It doesn’t need to be mounted outdoors because it can obtain a signal through either top. Roof racks or baskets, if not moved, have been observed to stifle the signal, but generally it’s a matter of out of sight, out of mind. We were both typing at the same moment, in case you didn’t notice. It is located behind the freedom panel. To see it, unzip the roll bar cushioning and remove the main part of the hard top. On the upper side of the roll cage, it’s attached to a metal gusset.

What is the exact location of the Sirius antenna?

The antenna should be mounted on the roll bar slightly above the front passenger seat, according to the instructions that come with the Mopar Satellite Radio Installation Kit (see PDF from Quadratec). I haven’t checked with my own JK, but I know how frustrating it is to have power interruptions due to trees, overpasses, and other factors. However, I’ve read on several threads that the hardtops/softtops should have no effect on satellite radio reception. If this is the case, the antenna is likely too far to the passenger side, and greater reception would be obtained if it were in the middle of the roll bar. These are my personal opinions. I hope this information is useful.

It’s on the cage bar’s top.

A bump in the padding on the left side may be seen. It should be present if you unzip the cushioning. If the reception doesn’t improve after running with the top off/down and the antenna exposed, the problem could be with the satellite or your location, not the antenna. I can see how permanently mounting that type of antenna on a jeep would be difficult, unless you put it on top of a hard top and never remove it. Alternatively, it may be mounted on an upright stick of some sort, but that would most likely be unattractive. I’d go to an audio shop and ask if they can assist. They might be able to add a booster or something. I’m by no means an expert, but I figured I’d throw it out there for you. Good luck, I really like mine, and commercials are terrible!

Install your XM satellite antenna in the first step

The position of the antenna varies depending on the Wrangler model you own. As a Wrangler owner, you’re probably going to remove your top during the summer, so attaching it somewhere you’ll eventually remove it defeats the purpose.

The antenna cable should be routed in step two

Cut a hole in the middle of the rollbar and run the antenna wire all the way down the rollbar, past the seat belt and to the floor. Some Wranglers feature holes in the side of the door for this purpose, as shown in the image below. Run the cable up to the dashboard from under the rug. Slide the wire beneath the dash and over to the XM satellite unit’s main unit.

Connect the power cables to the radio and test it

The car’s battery should be disconnected. By cutting the cigarette lighter attachment (not the power accessory, which is 12v constant direct to battery) and splicing in the satellite radio power, the power and micro stereo plug output from the radio’s receiver may be routed into the center console.

Remove the head unit and the front face plate from the unit.

Cut off the end of a tiny stereo plug extension and run it through the back of the head unit. Bridged the AUX connection switch connector and soldered directly to the AUX faceplate jack solder locations. It will not operate unless you bridge it. Plugging the male end into the front AUX jack and stripping the other end of the cable and testing each wire for continuity is an easy way to test this.Turn the radio on after reconnecting the battery. If it works, connect it to the dashboard in the appropriate area.

Do Jeep Wranglers have antennas?
Short or stubby antennas are designed to provide strong reception despite their short length, making them less likely to be snapped off by brush and branches while your Jeep Wrangler JL travels through wooded areas.

Where is the Sirius antenna on a Jeep Wrangler JL?

It can be found on the upper level; it was on the JK and the JL.

Where is the XM antenna on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler?

The SiriusXM satellite radio signal is received by this receiver. Magnetically mounts under the windshield, right beneath the dash top, on the interior of the Jeep.

Do Jeep Wranglers have XM radio?

Not all Jeep models come with SiriusXM®. Only the higher trim levels come with satellite radio. Jeep’s executives took this move in order to enhance sales of higher trim levels. Shoppers would be more tempted to buy standard or base models if SiriusXM® was available on all of them.

How do I move the satellite antenna on my Jeep JL?

Your antenna or other outside components may be damaged depending on the design of your vehicle. Your antenna might be bent, snapped, twisted, or torn off if the brushes rub up against the side of your vehicle.
