Wheel

How Many Lego Wheels Are there in the World

There are approximately seventy million Lego products sold per year, and you know that many wheels! Wow t! How much do the wheels weigh? It’s crazy – like a ton of those little plastic wheels. It is difficult to calculate the exact number, although Lego does its best to separate these excess pieces. So it is almost impossible to get a precise answer about how many Lego wheels there really are.

The number of lego wheels in the world has increased significantly since lego started using plastic wheels

In the early days (when I was a child), there were only four types of wheel:

  1. Solid rubber tyres (e.g. on the old trucks)
  2. Small rubber tyres with metal rims (e.g. on ‘adult’ models like tractors, trains etc.)
  3. Large rubber tyres with metal rims (e.g. on cars, boats etc.)
  4. Smaller tyres with no rims at all (e.g. on space sets, small trucks and so on)

Nowadays, there are dozens of different styles:

  • Large wheels with narrow rims – these are mostly used in space sets, but also appear in other sets such as ‘car wash’ or ‘shop’. These come in different colours – white, black or grey – and are often found on non-Lego vehicles such as planes or boats made by other manufacturers such as Matchbox or Brekina/Bburago etc.. They are also used for wheels in real life that have this style of wheel – e.g. VW Beetles use them for their front wheels; vans use them for rear

Number of lego pieces sold in total including mini figs

LEGO pieces are sold in sets of bricks, plates and wheels. The different types of bricks include 2×4, 2×6, 2×8 and 2×12. The plates are circular pieces with a hole in the centre and come in various sizes. The wheel is the most common part of the LEGO brick, having appeared in every set since 1963. There are three different types of wheel: a single wheel, double wheel and half-stud offset wheel. Each one has its own purpose within a model or vehicle design.

The LEGO Group has sold more than 400 billion individual pieces since 1958, with an average of around 350 million pieces sold each year between 2003-2008 inclusive.

Number of plastic wheels that were sold 2010

Lego estimates that there are between 62 and 63 billion bricks in the world. The company has produced more than 400 billion pieces since 1949, so it’s easy to see how a small change can have a big impact.

The company also sells sets that include a variety of different pieces. For example, the set “Unicornalia” includes 1,073 pieces, but only 42 wheels.

Average number of wheels in a typical Lego set

The number of wheels in a typical Lego set depends on the size and complexity of the set.  The average number of wheels per set is about 20, but could be as low as 10 or as high as 40.

The largest Lego set has 2,704 pieces and includes 3 cargo trucks, 1 helicopter, 1 pick-up truck, 1 forklift and 4 minifigures.

The smallest Lego set has just 6 pieces: 3 wheels and 3 transparent 1 x 1 plates.

How many plastic wheels are made per minute

Lego has been making plastic toy bricks since 1958, with a new molding machine coming on line every 10 minutes. Today, there are 7 billion Lego pieces produced every year. That’s roughly 350 million pieces per day and 1.15 billion per month.

At this rate, Lego will reach the Earth’s surface in 10,000 years’ time, assuming it is all dumped in one spot!

How many Wheels a Lego worker can pack per hour

The answer to your question is:

15,000!

According to the Lego Company, each worker can pack about 15,000 wheels per hour. That’s a lot of wheels!

The number of plastic wheels produced per year by Lego

The number of plastic wheels produced per year by Lego is estimated to be about 200 million.

The average household in the United States has about 30 million Lego pieces, according to the Lego Group website.

The world record for building a Lego car is 28 feet long, 8 feet tall and weighed more than 3,000 pounds. Lego blocks have been used to build furniture, such as tables and chairs.

The largest number of wheels

  • The largest number of wheels in one set is 750 Lego Technic Stunt Bike set. It has a total of twenty-six wheels: four on the car body and twenty-two on its chassis.
  • The second largest number of wheels in one set is 613 Lego Creator Expert Roller Coaster with 7 Dwarf Minifigures, which has a total of twenty-four wheels: four on the car body, eight on its chassis and twelve on the coaster track.
  • The third largest number of wheels in one set is 515 Lego Creator Expert 10247 Roller Coaster, which has a total of twenty-two wheels: four on the car body and eighteen on its roller coaster track.

Conclusion

Lego produces 609 million elements a day, that’s 262.6 Billion a year, and 18.6 Trillion since they started counting how many they’ve made. Of those, 550 million are wheels, 830-850 million are the classic bricks, and 940-950 million are tiles. They use 35 thousand tons of ABS plastic a year, and get through around 200 thousand spools of ABS filament for the back end factory that’s 25 kilometres of ABS filament just to make all the wheels. In total there’s 1111 Lego bricks for every person on earth. Brick sorting machines move 1600 bricks a minute, 369 million a year.
