Here’s the deal: I just want non-vinyl seats since my butt melts in them. What year Jeep seats, or anything else, will fit into my brackets or directly into my 1988 Jeep XJ? My brackets are great as well, so I wouldn’t mind removing my chairs from them, but I don’t have the skills or time to fab seats into mine. But, because my t-shirts are acquiring sweat stains as bad as an Alabama armpit, I’d love to hear some suggestions.

I recently purchased a Ranger that requires some inside repairs. New carpet, headliner, and seats are being installed. I had a few concerns about seating. I was considering jeeps because they appear to be quite appealing. Do you know if Trailmax Pro or Trailmax Sport seats will fit in a 1998 Ford Ranger, or if they will be too high? What are some of the other brands that you would recommend? If jeep seats don’t work, racing seats are another option.
Tacoma with Jeep seats?
In my Tacoma, I want to replace the seats. I am familiar with all of the available options, including the corbeau and four-runner chairs. The four runner chairs are 20 years old and difficult to come by. Although the corbeau brackets are attractive, the chairs have a reputation for breaking down quickly. The corbeau brackets, on the other hand, are made to fit any jeep seat pattern. I’ve been staring at stock jeep seats, wondering “what if?” since I learnt that. The leather jk seats in particular appear to be quite excellent. Also, there should be more destroyed jeeps than 20-year-old 4Runners.
Corbeau seats were freshly installed. The bracket welds aren’t particularly impressive. Although not attractive, it serves a purpose. The overall fit was disappointing. When the seat is slid back, the seatbelt attachment pointsrub on the seat. The best part about the bracket is that it has all of the angles completed, however I did have to bend it a little to get it to line up.
