How to Change Fog Light Bulb on 2013 Jeep Wrangler

Fog lights are high-end accessories that aren’t typically included with all car types. They’re a great feature for drivers who travel on unfamiliar routes or in inclement weather in general. They make the road ahead of you more visible. They do, however, require maintenance and replacement, much like the other bulbs in your vehicle’s lighting system. When a light bulb burns out, it is important to know how to replace it.

Remove the grille in step one.

The grille must be loosened and removed to gain access to the connections

• Remove plastic rivets from the upper area of the grille with a flat head screwdriver.

• On both sides of the grille, there are “clips” that must be removed.

Remove the lower bumper grille in the next step.

The lower skid plate must be removed to gain full access to the fog light for removal.

• Remove the lower skid plate and unscrew two bolts beneath it.

• Take the clips from behind the skid plate and discard them.

• As a single unit, remove the skid plate.

Remove the fog lights in the third step.

The fog lights can now be removed for replacement now that they’re accessible.

• Remove the fog lights from their mounting brackets.

• Remove the light bulb by turning it counterclockwise.

• Take out the bulb and replace it.

Reinstalling the software is the fourth step.

It’s now time to reassemble everything.

• Make sure the replacement fog light bulbs are securely fastened.

• Clips should be used to secure the skid plate.

• Use appropriate screws to secure the lower grille.

• Using pop rivets and clips, secure the upper grille.

• Make sure the replacement bulbs in the fog lights work by testing them.

Make sure your turn signals are plugged in again.

How to replace jeep wrangler fog light bulb

Vehicle designers use a variety of components to create their cars. The vehicle’s lighting system is a critical component among them all. Headlights, taillights, turn signals, and, in many cases, fog lights are all included. Fog lights are standard on many “luxury” models, but not on many “basic” models. Vehicles with existing fog lights can benefit from some of the aftermarket systems available today. Because of their frequent use on off-roads or unfamiliar terrain with low visibility, Jeeps are one of several types of vehicles that greatly benefit from the use of fog lights. Required Materials

• Screwdriver with a flat blade

• Box cutter or razor blade

• Tools for splicing

• Connectors for butt

• Shrinkage from heat

• insulating tape

• 4 washers, dish washers, lock washer, 1/4″ bolts, and rubber washers and mounts

Step 1: Disconnect the fog lights from the manufacturer

The old aftermarket fog lights must be removed before installing the new aftermarket fog lights.

• Unplug the negative (black) connector of the battery.

• On either side, disconnect the fog light harness from the fog light assembly.

• Take four bolts out of each assembly and lay them aside.

Step 2: Separate the old lenses from the OEM housing

Individual units mounted to plastic housings are what your current fog lights are. You can split each unit between lens and housing to maintain factory fitment and avoid drilling into your bumper.

• Pry along the edges of the plastic enclosure with a flat-tipped screwdriver.

• Discard the old lenses.

Step 3: Replace the old housing with the new lenses

The replacement lenses can now be swapped in after the old lenses have been detached from the factory housing. New mounting bits will most likely be included in your kit, but you won’t need them.

• Line up the four bolt holes by aligning the “top” mark on the fog light lenses with the housing.

• Attach the new fog light lens to it using the bolt, washer, plastic mounts, lock washer, dish washer, and rubber mounts.

Step 4: Connect the new fog lights to the vehicle’s electrical system

It’s time to connect the aftermarket fog lights to the stock wiring.

• Directly connect the new fog lights to the fog light harness via a splice.

• Make a secure connection with butt connectors or heat shrink.

• To prevent corrosion, cover your splices with electrical tape.
