Dismantle the enclosures and replace the speakers. This procedure will expedite and simplify the speaker replacement process. If your Jeep has separate tweeters, these are easy to replace because they are accessible from the top of the dash.
Jeep Wrangler sound
All noises are authentic, with an exceptionally low starting frequency of 35Hz. 35Hz is a good achievement for conventional automobile speakers, and is typically handled by subwoofers. While tweeters do not reach extremely high frequencies, they can have their volume adjusted up to 9dB per octave at the crossover.
- Remove the dash’s side panel; I used a flat head screw driver and it came off easily
2. Disconnect the glove compartment. Simply squeeze each side to release it.
3. Pop out the panel beneath the glove box.
4. Unbolt the three bolts that secure the speaker box to the wall
5. Disconnect the speaker box and pry it out through the glove box aperture
6. Unscrew the three screws that secure the stock speakers in place.
7. Install new speaker; Crutchfield provides plug-and-play adapters, which made this extremely simple
8. Reinstall, ensure that everything is secure before fastening anything
Procedure
For the driver’s side, simply remove the panel beneath the steering wheel, four 7 mm bolts, the side panel, bend out the dash panel, remove two speaker enclosure side bolts, and the bottom speaker enclosure 10 mm black bolt. Remove and unplug the speaker box. It’s a non-event. To replace the speaker, it is preferable to remove the entire speaker enclosure. Simply reverse the procedure to reinstall. It was even simpler on the passenger side.
Speakers Changing
Remove the dash and the speaker-box. Then, using your fingers, pull on the bottom of the dash and twist the speaker-box out. When I attempted this for the first time, I failed due to cuts to my hands and a lack of courage to pull hard enough on the dash. When I attempted it again, I extended the dash quite a bit and found that removing the box was rather simple.

Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Audio Upgrades
The Jeep Wrangler JK’s sound system is frequently criticized for its poor quality. The Wrangler JK’s head units are underpowered, as are the speakers. Additionally, many people despise the Uconnect system, which utilizes Bluetooth to connect the radio and a smartphone to enable hands-free calling and audio streaming from the phone to the system. Some Wrangler owners, including me, eventually act on their urge for more from their sound system. My primary motivation for upgrading my basic 130S was to enable Apple Car play functionality via a heat unit screen.
Front-speaker replacement
I’m utilizing stock wiring to connect 61/2 Polk components in front. The tweeters performed flawlessly in place of the OEM units. The Polk crossover will need to be wired down near the lower woofer enclosure. To achieve the greatest results, apply pieces of dynamat to the inside surfaces of the sound bar and front enclosures before filling them with fiberfill. Remove the rubber connectors that connect the front wires to the front woofer enclosures. This helps with bass response by porting the enclosure. My sound bar has six and a half Polk coaxes. They were priced at $39.99 each at Best Buy. I have a pioneer AVH 3500, and the settings for sound contouring are quite handy.
